By L.T. Dinwiddie T.I. has to be the biggest donkey on the face of the planet. I am sure you've all heard about T.I. getting locked up over his poor decision making skills right? Well just so you know he as also been denied bond. So we can pretty much stick a fork in his career and call it a day.
The people have spoken, and it’s Graduation day for IDJ’sKanye West.
In the much-celebrated battle between the dapper rapper and Shady/Aftermath/ Interscope gangsta icon 50 Cent, West wins going away, with a first-week total of 930k that tops his own Late Registration, which bowed at #1 in August 2005 with 860k in sales.
Fiddy has nothing to be ashamed of, as Curtis tallies 660k, which represents the second-largest one-week total of the year, topping Linkin Park’s 625k back in May. FULL STORY
While Kanye is dominating 50 Cent in album sales over both their highly anticipated projects that debuted on the same day, this past Tuesday – it seems that Kanye is upping the ante. Ryan Seacrest just broke word exclusively on his highly popular radio programthat Kanye West has been tapped to perform on this years Emmy Awards. The award ceremony, which as far as I could find out has never included a hip-hop act as a performer, premieres on Fox this Sunday, September 16th, 2007.
There is no word yet on what he will perform. But lets hope all the bitching he did on the MTV Awards gets him the opening number.
JAY-Z ON COLUMBIA MOVE: "I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR MY NEXT MOVE"!!
By L.T. Dinwiddie The Internet rumors surrounding Jay Z have run rampant these past few weeks. Published reports have the self proclaimed “Best Rapper Alive” joining forces with Beyonce and Apple to form a new record label. While others have the Joe Camel look alike jumping ship at Def Jam to accompany former Def Jam executive Rick Rubin and B at Columbia.
Jigga was supposed to sit down and personally address all the rumors with HOT 97’s Angie Martinez, but pulled out at the last minute due to personal reasons. However, Angie did manage to get him on the phone and here’s a little of what he had to say:
After Martinez queried him, Jay-Z said that he'd be at his Def Jam post next week, sidestepping the notion that he was exiting his presidential position at the label. "If they don't kick me out the building [I will be there next week]," Jay-Z said to Angie Martinez.
She also asked him if he was planning the rumored move to Columbia. "I'm always looking at the next move," he said and stated that he liked his job at the label.
It looks like we can expect that move to be announced any day now.FULL STORYJay is rescheduled to be on the radio program August 3rd.
