DREAMGIRLS COMES TO DVD, AND J-HUD COMES TO ATLANTA!!!
By L.T. Dinwiddie
According to Amazon.com, "DreamGirls" will be released on DVD May 1st 2007. As you all know I have been on a Jennifer Hudson media blitz every since word broke out that she had been tapped to play the legendary Broadway character, Effie White. I don’t think that this DVD cover captures the essence of the film but I like how they slimmed my girl down, not that she needs it because she is beautiful either way.

Jennifer Hudson will be performing here in Atlanta tomorrow night for Dallas Austin’s Foundation, or is Ryan Cameron’s Foundation, I cant remember. Either way Denzel and his lovely wife Pauletta will be in attendance while J Hud is tapped to perform. I tried every contact I had but nobody could seem to get me on the guest list for this event, and I for damn sure wasnt going to be ponying up the whopping $1000 a ticket asking price (hell thats rent). Oh well I digress. I’m sure I will get emails from my informants who will be in attendance informing me of what happened. When I know, trust me you’ll know.Read More...Collapse...
Well it looks like Chris Brown is finally speaking out about the nude pictures that are spreading across the internet. Chris spoke to FunkMaster Flex recently to clear everything up.
What do I think about it? Well frankly, I don’t care anymore. I’ve moved on. But I will say that if I wanted to disect his entire interview I could pull it apart to reveal that there is more that meets the eye regarding this kat. But again, I dont have the time.
And on a sidenote, what is up with his verbage? I want these kats to learn how to speak well when they open their mouths. It's obvious that the home school thing has failed Chris and Beyonce.Read More...Collapse...
By L.T. Dinwiddie It looks like the Diva has completed her television community service and is now about to gain her on show.
Court TV has announced it has in fact signed bridezilla Star Jones Reynolds to host her own show about criminal justice intersecting with pop culture. I think that this is a great fit for star. She can keep utilize and infuse her legal skill and pop culture knowledge. I think that her unfortunate demise from “The View” may have put her life in perspective. I have had my share fare of jabs at Starlet, but I am glad that she was able to pick herself up by the boot straps and move forward. And if having a gay husband is the way to do it then I say How You Doin…
I am just speechless. You can’t trust anybody with your own children anymore. We are living in an unbelievably disturbing society. In this video clip you will see two adults who are acting as babysitters, teach two infant children how to smoke weed. The video shows the two little boys lighting up, and ultimately inhaling marijuana through a blunt.
The police have arrested the two caretakers, and the children have been placed in foster care. People please listen up; you can’t trust your children with ANYBODY but you!!
Black Hollywood came together once again to celebrate the advancements and achievements in television, film, and music for people of color this weekend.
Recognizing best achievements in filmmaking, the organization eventually handed out the top honor of best picture to "The Pursuit of Happyness" while naming Forest Whitaker of "The Last King of Scotland" and Keke Palmer of "Akeelah and the Bee" the best actor and actress, respectively.
In the supporting acting categories, Jennifer Hudson and Djimon Hounsou delightfully popped out as the champions, the former being honored for her stunning performance in "Dreamgirls" while the latter for his in "Blood Diamond."
Others scoring at the event were "An Inconvenient Truth" as Best Independent or Foreign Film and Spike Lee who took the best director title for "Inside Man" with Doug Atchison taking home the best writing trophy through his work in "Akeelah."
JENNIFER HUDSON SINGS "AND I AM TELLING YOU" LIVE!!!!
By L.T. Dinwiddie
Resident Jennifer Hudson hater, and my friend Clay Cane (ClayCane.net) found one of the most sought after performances of the year (did I just oversell it?) O1lt.com favorite and Academy Award Winning Actress, J-Hud tore it down at Clive Davis’s annual Pre-Grammy Party, with her rendition of “And I’m Telling You”.
I loved the performance! I know that a lot of people have seen the original powerhouse – Jennifer Holiday – sing this song with ease, even after downing a 2 liter bottle of soda right before hitting the stage. But, I can’t think of anyone in today’s music who could come as close as J-Hud did. Beyonce, for damn sure cant do it, and that’s just the truth.
Here is the performance. Watch Jennifer work the stage, and wow the crowd. She seems to already be a pro as she brings her fans to their feet with cheer and excitement.
