BEYONCE MAY NOT BE AS HOT AS SHE THOUGHT!
BY LT Dinwiddie
A lot of people look at me as some rookie in the game when it comes to entertainment reporting. Just because I am not affiliated with a major news outlet, doesn’t mean that I don’t know what I’m talking about. I was the one who reported that critics hate the Beyoncé “B-Day” album. I was the one who also reported that though it seems all good with Beyoncé and her father there is a small rift over the lack of interest from fans, and her decision to record tracks without his approval. And just earlier this week I was the one who reported, and cast my opinion that Beyoncé’s sophomore record wasn’t looking too good according to sales figures that I had exclusive access to, and I was 100% correct.
Beyoncé’s sophomore album debuted at number 47 on Billboard’s R&B charts. Though the official release for the Hot 100 charts won’t be released until tomorrow, According to Soundscan, B'Day scanned just 557,209 - far less than Mary J. Blige's The Breakthrouh which sold over 700,000 during it's first week of sales. And less than the projected sales of 600,000 - 650,000. Not bad for a second solo effort, but not as good as she could have done if she would have just listened to her manager/father. I am very intrested to see what next weeks chart results will be with Justin Timberlake on her heels.

For all the people who constantly email me saying I don’t know what I am talking about. You might want to get on board and follow my lead. I won’t steer you wrong with my entertainment reporting.

Bruh...you are totally off with your assessment of Beyonce's 1st week sales. The ONLY reason she appeared on the charts at #47 is because her CD was ILEGALLY released on last Monday...one day prior to her official release date. Based on those few CDs that were scanned, that is why she's so low on the charts. Secondly, any artist who sells over 500,000 in a week is a superstar. I'm not that much of a Beyonce fan, but you can't compare her sales to Mary's (huge MJB fan) because Mary came out on the last Tuesday before Christmas which resulted in HUGE sales. I will agree with you that I think this CD will not sell as much as everyone thinks because the music is crap and the general public isn’t feeling it all that much. I’m not an entertainment reporter either, but I’m a big entertainment groupie and I just want accurate information to be shared.
Well, her album had to be nothing, BUT WACK! The first two single are trash so I did not think it would've debuted at #1.
You and Sandra need to find something else to do with your time instead of bashing Beyonce, I love the album it's different people are scared of change. But the album appeared on billboard at #1 instead of you giving her a pat on the back you kick her in the ass bringing up MJB whose album before this last one was garbage in sells just admit you were wrong instead of bringing up other people sales. Beyonce is 25 MJB is 40. (So Get On Your Head)!!!!
Beyonce rushed to get her album out because she knew Toya was a big competition. Toya album is the best i've heard all year and once i heard Beyonce's first two singles, i knew i wasn't wasting my money on her.
You predicted her album wouldn't do well. Her album went gold in the first week, so clearly it didn't bomb. YOU WERE WRONG. Btw, WHO projected 600,000? I don't think Beyonce did. So what the hell is the title of this blog referring to? She didn't predict anything. She just made a hit record (the B'Day reviews I've seen have been positive).
Oh, and you have NO idea about any "rifts" between her and her father. Have YOU asked them? Stay out of folks' home business and get yourself a life.
I personally like the cd myself....a couple of songs I can do without, but beyonce needs to continue to do her thang man.. this year she has been hated on so much its crazy...I like her though...the music...I say keep doing what you doing girl....
Latoya has good songs, but she SUCKS Live...B-day was released around her birthday. It has nothing to do w/ Latoya's album. If they both really got fans people will buy the album no matter who's came out first....stop beleiving everything the media tells you....
