THE DON IMUS OUTRAGE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY MISPLACED!!!!

    By L.T. Dinwiddie
All right black people, we got the white man fired from television and radio. It was just announced that Don Imus has been canned by CBS. So this can be considered a victory right?

Hopefully we will start to hold our rappers accountable the way same we hold the white man! It’s time for a change—seriously!

I still don’t see what the big issue is regarding this entire controversy. Many within the black community have said a lot worse about our black women. But, we have the audacity to cry when a white man does it? What sense does that make???

The man said “Nappy Headed Ho!" He didn’t say "kill the nigger!". I wish you all could see how the black community has been used by Rev. Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson. They used this situation to push their own individual agenda(s). In this case the outrage has been completely misplaced.

    My sentiments exactly.

Now that we have fired Imus, are we going to go after the rappers, the songwriters, the music execs, too?

Did you see the interview Rev. Sharpton had on the Today show? A must see...

I agree 100%. I'm so tried of some black people saying this and that about Imus and they are the 1st ones to call someone the n word, hoe, b and slut. I just finished watching a movie called Players Ball. I should of know better from the name. Why was Treach in there calling people n's and hoes. You have to respect yourself first before you get respect.

I am in agreement as well. I'm so sick of us as black people, esp. our black men, disrespecting us and yet we are ready for a show-down when other groups call us out.

I'm so sick of the hypocrisy. In my opinion there is no difference between nigger and nigga. Dumb idiots thinking like that. No other ethnic group has taken a term of hate and "turned" it into a term of endearment. Hispanics don't go around talking about "yo what up my spic."

Anyway if Imus is going to be fired then I believe, which I always did, that Ms. Jones should've been fired for her racist comments she turned into a song about the Tsunami victims.

I agree that this outrage has been misplaced.

I have one thing to say to all the people responding to this post...I bet ALL of you have the offensive 'hip-hop' in all your collections. The second response was how the person was soo taken back by 'Players Ball'.?? That is the dumbest thing I have read all day!!! Do you know what a 'Players Ball' is? It is for pimps!!! If you don't agree, WHY ARE YOU WATCHING A BALL FOR PIMPS!!! Check yourselves, and educate yourselves...

The man was a racist and he had to to go. I do not feel bad that his racist behind is gone. Yes blacks have problems and white have problems also. When Tim Hardaway made his racist comment his career ended. If some people can't understand how sensitive it was for most young black women to hear this, then they can go to hell. Most of us may not admit it, but we feel initimidated wearing our hair natural, we are desperately trying to cope with this sneaky racist world. So the hell with Imus. I hope he lose his ranch also.

Imus can only blame himself for getting fired. Although he has freedom of speech, when you are endorseing other companies you have a moral obligatin to watch what you say espically when it comes to race, religion, or sex. In the end it was about business and image that cost him his job. I wouldn't want him representing my company saying some stupid shit like that.

And the "rapper say it all the time" excuse is bullshit too, all black men don't treat black women that way. And yea, its wrong and ignorant to degrade black women but at the same time why immitate these stupid as rapppers when you know it's wrong. Don't try to justify your actions by someone else's wrong doings..he had no right calling those beautiful, intelligent, women ho's on national radio and people were right to be angry.

I hope this incident will bring a lot of attention to these ignorant ass rappers using ho, bitch and nigga in their lyrics. This is part of the reason why the hip hop industry is being destroyed.

You have to be 18 or older to listen to hardcore rap music. Don Imus was on a Morining show being broadcast to anyone that tuned him in. Rappers have every right to make music and use any words they like. Snoop can call the women he deals with hoes and he can call himself a nigga all he wants. If Imus wants to make a rap CD then he should but he should be fired.

Imus is old, tired and racist there is no hope for this fossil.
Stop making excuses for him. We all know hip hop is out of control, the murders of black teenagers killing eachother is also. Does that mean Imus has the right to use such derrogatory terms about young black women, no it doesn't he should be fired and he was.. AMEN
