    MORE BEYONCE AND DREAMGIRLS NEWS!!!

    L.T. Dinwiddie

As you all know I have a strong love/hate relationship with the ultra diva— Beyoncé Knowles. The DreamGirls movie has been wildly publized as Jennifer Hudson's breakout role. Despite that fact, apparently many are cheering for Beyonce--not Jennifer in the new feature film.

My friend, in the name of writing, Sohh Soulful has seen the new Beyoncé Knowles—oops I mean “DreamGirls” movie and you’ll be surprised at what he has to say about Jhud and Beyoncé. Though everyone is applauding Ms. Hudson’s performance in this Broadway adaptation, he says that unfortunately Jennifer leaves much to be desired.

Could Beyonce, in fact, be the breakout star despite everyone, including Ms. Oprah Winfrey, applauding Jennifer Hudson’s performance? Only time will tell. Unfortunately, I missed my opportunity to see a private screening of the highly buzzed feature film. However, I do plan on watching it on Christmas Day.

Here is another video from the movie. Not for nothing, but Beyoncé is working her ass off.

    SOHH SOULFUL'S "DREAMGIRLS" REVIEW

Everyone is buzzing about JHUD. Your colleague wrote a weak critique of the movie and honestly, his lone opinion is not going to change the minds or the news of what is being printed and focused on when it comes to this movie. I would write this comment on the sohhsoulful post but, the comments are down. Just tell your colleague that the next time he offers his review of the movie to support his observations with examples and not just weak comments that offer no insight into what the movie or the characters are about. He said that the movie was written to "glorify" the role of Effie. Effie may be the lead role but, not everyone can carry a lead role and make it believable. Jhud did her thang in the movie and she is not getting all that buzz for nothing.

sohh.com is owned by def jam affiliates, that site is biased towards rivalries of their favorite celebritites. they gave Letoya a 2.5 stars out of five for her album and beyonce a 3.5 stars for her crappy work, with only 3 good songs on that b-day?
they're a kiss ass media outlet.

I have not seen the film yet, but I was lucky enough to be working in the entertainment press in Boston on the night that "Dreamgirls" opened for out-of-town tryouts. So I got to see/hear Jennifer Holliday sing that amazing song live for the first time! So many years later, I still remember the power of that performance.
