With an explosive impact on Billboard this week Ciara has come in at number one selling an astounding estimated 340,000 copies of her new CD Ciara:The Evolution. After having four consecutive hits from her smash debut album – Goodies, Ciara certainly has evolved from being labeled the “Princess of Crunk music”.
Though her first unofficial single “Get Up” featuring Chamillionaire, was a blazing summer track that you could hear blasting from almost any car while curising down Peachtree Street, her follow-up single/official track “Promise” left many scratching their heads in confusion. Why would she have decided to change up a music style that made her an extremely successful – multi-platinum artist?
While “Promise” never cracked the top ten, like its predecessors, obviously that didn’t keep her fans from rushing into retailers to cop that disc. Ciara has garnered her first number one album dispelling any and all doubt that she’d fall victim to the sophomore jinx. If her CD sales remain steady it could possible solidify her a firm career in today’s often times disposable music scene. Congragulations Ci-Ci!
JENNIFER HOLLIDAY stood on a small stage, pouring out a song of hope and battling the odds. Her gut-wrenching voice tore from her throat with volcanic force, and her expression, all closed eyes and open mouth, was of a performer possessed, exorcising the anguish deep inside her.
The overflow crowd in the narrow Ars Nova performance space in Manhattan sat entranced, then exploded into whooping cheers as Holliday — best known as the rotund actress who helped make the original "Dreamgirls" a smash hit — belted her final triumphant note. He was also known to arrive at modeling agencies and ask to see the portfolio's of "black models only." He would browse the books until he saw a black woman he found attractive and a date was arranged. A white billionaire film mogul is known for doing the same thing.
Rewind: We reported last year, another A-list white actor-who is extremely wealthy and powerful was creeping with the ex-wife of a black actor/behind the scenes man. She insisted-due to her divorce proceedings, that they had to keep their relationship private.
Meanwhile, he had her living in a $25,000 per month Hollywood Hills home. He also paid the note on her Ferrari and he had expensive jewelry delivered to her. She also had a closet full of designer clothes.
They would breakup because the actor (against the wishes of his reps) wanted to go public. She didn't want to offend her ex-husband because she still had feelings for him and was hoping for a reconciliation despite the fact he had moved on.
He moved on to another black woman. He was shocked when she rejected him, she reasoned, 'I don't want the media scrutiny.'
This actor eventually married a white woman but we have received word, he still has the "fever" and is currently on the hunt for a black mistress-who he can spoil and pamper.
