I can’t tell you all how Beyonce just irks the hell out of me. She can sing, a little. She can dance, a little. She’s beautiful, a little. But dammit I’m over her ability to be unoriginal—
Case in point, her new video “Upgrade You”.
First off B, Janet already did the whole water thing in her “Everytime” Video. Secondly, your high glamour reliance is truly disappointing. After almost 10 years in the public eye, and 4 years of basking in your solo success, you would think that you would give us something more. We’ve seen you look extremely beautiful before – so what’s next???
The video is tired, and redundant. I just desire more for music now-a-days. I am sooooooooooooooooooo over this manufactured diva I could vomit.

Everything she has done this year someone else has already done it. Remember the MTV awards Britney And Janet both had done the routines she came out with.
Oh and the only reason she used Shakira in her video is because Shakira is HOTTTT . She's the hottest thang out there. Poor B she needs to get a real life.
You're right about this. It's really getting more questionable how Beyonce got to where she is, when people always talk about originality and that is nowhere to be found in her work. Yeah the video is nice, but a lot of things are nice. I don't think there's any point to do a video it its just the same thing every time. Save your damn money and keep playing the same stuff!

I am definately hating....this video sucks...now I do like Beyonce' and I do love the song...but come on now...what happened to videos that tell a story...why couldn't we just see her UPGRADE???? the whole water thing came from Vanessa Williams comfort zone once again and Pebbles 'Given you the Benefit', nothing she does is a original. The hand behind her back came from Aaliyah 'More than a Woman' shout out to Fatima...she has never been original. Me, Myself and I came from Dreamin vid by Vanessa William as well as Baby Boyvid. The Shakira vid was so that she can be accepted as a dancer, that I don't give to her. The black sultry look came from PCD's 'Buttons' vid.
can someone explain to me when someone comments are negative or positive, you are either a haters or "sans"; whatever that means. She has nice songs, her voice could be better especially since she has been out for ten years. everytime i see her, i just want to see improvements and not the same thing with two bells and one whistle. The videos was emailed to me and it should have been better, 'Upgrade U' could have had more quality under budget or not to it. But everyone sees her as someone who have tip the scale and made the same music better than it was before...Question who would you listen to Whitney or Beyonce on a hot Saturday afternoon?
To say the least of course these are opinions. Talk about things being repeated everybody is going back to they video vaults and trying to find some comparisons to what she's doing and what has been done, even if there were some things repeated, in this generation who's really seen it to know? Unless you old as hell! I bet if some of these people are paying attention they're happy that they've had an influence on someone especially of her stature. To talk about growing vocally pay attention to the scales she always did in the beginning and how she's more mellow now even if some of the stuff she sings is kind of crazy you can't say that she don't kill it. Yeah everybody expected her to do use the same formula on this album but she didn't and she still came out on top look at the music biz out of all the R&B chicks that have been out in the last 10 years she's the one who stands out from Amerie, Ashanti, Fantasia,Mya, Brandy, Monica, and anybody else she is the IT girl. So regardless to her repeating things everybody still gon pay attention. If you tired of her go to sleep cause she definitely ain't finished. I say give props where props is do and she gets them.
yeah she is unoriginal! the upgrade video remind me of crazy in love with the car, baby boy with the water scene and deja vu with fake jay z scene! Beyonce is really overated but consumers like it! I think if the public felt she was more honest, more real people would respect her more. Beyonce seems like she was raised and continues to be sheltered but that's her management/father/mother team. She never addresses issues. After the whole Ne-Yo song writing scandal, among other issues, I don't trust that she wrote too much of anything from any CD now, but she just lets sh*t slide and never says anything about nothing. Oh well...but y'all stop hatin'...she's doing the damn thing now.

I am not hating on Beyonce but I have to agree that her videos are unoriginal. I am not talking about the fact that she has copied scenes from other videos because people do that all the time.
My whole beef is that every video looks the same. Its just clips of her dancing, or sitting or laying or walking. There are no scenes that tell about the song its just her.
Beyonce was on 106 and Park, showing 8 videos that she made for her songs. I like her album, I like the stories it tells. But all 8 videos clips were the same..., clips of her dancing in lil clothes in a studio.
Nothing new.
All I would like to see is something new. I could have easily give her concepts for al of her videos that would be more entertianing than seeing the same old same old.

Yes, you are right: Everyone IS inspired by others, but damn she is COPYING other artists and want all of the CREDIT. None of her live performances are HER. She was so much better when she was with Destiny's Child. Also, it is kind of ironic after Ciara's video came out for "Like A Boy" she coincidently does a scene JUST like Ciara. It is a shame that it has to be this way!!! Come on, Bey!!!
And I would like to add she has Shakira in her video not only because she is HOT, but Beyonce is rolling and belly dancingall over the place LIKE Shakira. Before her, Shakira and Aaliyah were the ONLY two artists belly dancing, not to mention Shakira belly danced as a child becuase it is part of her culture. I thought she was trying to do a J. Lo. and I was about to turn the video off until J popped up. She was on 106 saying they were still an item. She's talented and beautiful but without J a few of her songs would NOT have even made most of our e-mail listings.
This video reminded me of Mariah Carey video with P.Diddy and Eddie Griffin...LOL! Her vocals haven't change, she is hitting the same notes (now call screaming) from the track off the Tyler Perry, His Woman, His Wife. I am not a hater, i only her songs when i am in someone else car and i can not control what they listen to, but she is not raising the bar. and to answer the question i rather listen to Whitney on a Saturday afternoon...just my opinion.
